Wrote a letter to a body
I desired.
Asked her if she ever considered retire-
mental is the feeling that I get at times;
shakes and pains from years spent
trying to cross our lines.
Tried to ask the spirit of the leaves
said I'm allowed this sudden breach.
Time's a crooked, calloused ghost,
scratching at the surface of the hardened vessels
time's a black spot in my bones
sucking out the marrow from a healthy host.
Tried to ask the spirit of the seas
said she could see the storm rise up in me.
I am the light
a carver of constellations.
I have them life
then slaughtered all their bases.
